Always Check the Fuel

You have completed all your checks in the morning as per the checklist. You then fly for 3 hours and land at an airfield. You request fuel, and a Fuel Truck arrives and refills your tanks with Avgas from his truck or the fuel station. You then go to lunch.

After lunch, do you follow the checklist or as you have flown in the morning do you just check the oil and give the plane a quick walk around? Do you check the fuel as you know the tanks are full and you just got filled up by the Fuel Provider at the airfield?

Yes, you do.

Always follow the checklist.

If you have water in your fuel on a takeoff roll this could cause an interruption to the engine.

Always follow your checklist, even to stop the embarrassment of leaving your chocks in or the wing tied down....!
